I have 3 clones of this one:
#454A Yucca arkansana, grown in a pot which
is in a protected frame during the winter.
#454B Yucca arkansana, grown in a pot which
is in a protected frame during the winter.
#454C Yucca arkansana, planted in a raised
well drained bed which is protected against winter moisture

Where did I get the plant from:
I got the seeds to this plant from Mesa Garden, the seeds were collected
in Beckam Co. Oklahoma by David J. Ferguson DJF1316, The seeds were
sown in 1992. I did received the seed as Yucca glauca var. arkansana
Short description of the plant:
This plant has many fibers in the lower part of the leaves, and a few
at the end of the leaves, white edge, 8 mm wide.
More added later!
Where do I grow the plant:
grown in a large pot that are outside in the summer and kept inside
the unheated greenhouse from October to May.
Hardiness:
I have only tried it in in a pot so far.
Other notes:
Plants from this location may be intermediates of Yucca
glauca and Yucca arkansana?

Scape 30 cm. Flowers: pendulous (bell shaped) greenish white, 3,5
to 5 cm in a short narrow panicle Fruit 25 mm thick and 48 mm long
(this may not be a typical fruit, but was the only one on the plant in
the summer of 2003!)
Where do I grow the plant:
It's grown in a raised bed that are protected against winter moisture
from October to May. , .
Hardiness:
I have only tried it in a bed which is protected from winter moisture
from late October to late April.

In the summer of 2003 I tried to pollinate the flowers with pollen from
another Yucca species:
#454C Yucca arkansana (stiff narrow leaded form) X #1465A
Yucca
filamentosa, 3 flowers pollinated, = 1 fruit (2 aborted)
I also used the pollen from this plant to pollinate the following:
#1465A Yucca filamentosa X #454C Yucca arkansana (stiff narrow leaded form), 5 flowers pollinated, = 1 fruit (4 aborted)

It will be very interesting to see the outcome of the new hybrids, but I do not expect flowers in the new hybrid until 2010 at the earliest!
More details of the Yucca hybrids
made in 2003.
