Distribution:
Is to be found in rocky hills and plains at 1100 to 2100 m. altitude
U.S.A.: Sonoaran Desert and Chihuahuan Desert: in Arizona Cochise Co., Pima Co., Santa Cruz Co. New Mexico in Hidalgo Co.
Mexico: Sonora State

Short description of the species:
Plant arborescent in groups, 100 to 150 cm tall and up to 300 cm wide the stems are rarely branched. Leaves 30 to 65 cm long, 3,5 to 5 cm wide, concavo-convex, a little flexible, leaf margin with strait thin fibers. Inflorescence 100 to 150 cm tall, scape 10 to 35 cm, rarely above the leaves, mostly in between the leaves. Flowers Campanulate (bell shaped) 5,5 to 120 cm long, anthers 0,5 to 0,7 cm in length, pistil 4,6 to 7,5 cm long, ovary approximately 0,7 to 1,2 cm thick, style 0,4 to 1 cm long 0,3 cm thick. Fruit fleshy, indehiscent, 7 to 10 cm long, 2 to 3 cm thick. Seeds dull black, thick, rough and wingless.

Notes:
Yucca arizonica has caused many different views of opinion, some authors are convinced that it's a natural hybrid and others that it's a synonym for Yucca schottii (Which again may be an early natural hybrid of Yucca baccata, Yucca elata and Yucca madrensis, and therefore may be named Yuccaxschottii) or Yucca madrensis.
